Ras Al Khaimah Ports sign MoU with RAK Transport Authority providing new opportunities and transport links for cruise and water tourism in the Emirate

Ras Al Khaimah Ports (RAK Ports) and RAK Transport Authority (RAKTA) signed a strategic MoU to develop and reinforce the integration and land transport opportunities for passengers and crew of the visiting boutique cruise vessels by providing dedicated bus and taxi facilities in Ras Al Khaimah Port and the development of maritime passenger water transport opportunities on RAK Creek.

 The agreement was signed by Captain Clifford William Brand, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RAK Ports and HE Eng. Ismail Hassan Al Blooshi, General Manager of RAK Transport Authority during a signing ceremony on the morning of 24th Dec 2019 at the RAK Transport Authority headquarters, in Ras Al Khaimah.

Under this agreement, RAK Ports and the Transport Authority will continue work on multiple maritime projects to support the development of boutique cruise and water tourism offerings in the Emirate. To achieve these goals the departments will develop a marine transport infrastructure around the cruise terminal.  RAK Ports & RAK Transport Authority will also facilitate water tourism operations by developing state of the art passenger ferry, abra and water bus landing platforms, develop water bus services from RAK Creek to Al Hamra, Marjan Island, Mina Al Arab, and develop a marine licensing authority for ferries, leisure dhows, water buses and abras carrying passengers in RAK territorial waters.

Esmaeel Hassan Al Blooshi, General Manager of RAK Transport Authority, “RAKTA always keenness to enhance the relationship and cooperation with local entities, to achieve Ras Al Khimah emirate vision 2030 more mover, our MoU with RAK Ports will aim primarily to develop the transport infrastructure in RAK city. Also to provide a taxi and bus services to the ports customers and make sure the smooth flow of transportation. Also the MoU will enhance the cooperation in future projects especially in marine services such Abra service in the Greek.  Captain Clifford William Brand, CEO of RAK Ports. “We are looking forward to this partnership with RAK Transport Authority, and are confident that it will play a key role in supporting Ras Al Khaimah’s vision in the continued growth of the maritime water and cruise tourism sector, following the re-development of the city’s first boutique cruise vessel passenger terminal, which was recently launched and saw the arrival of its first vessel on 1 Dec 2019, where the passengers received a first class, hassle free service and support from the transport authorities public taxi service. 

Coordination Meeting between RAK Transport Authority and RAS Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies

H.E. Eng. Ismaeel Hassan Al Balooshi, General manager of the Authority, visited the Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies and was received by H.E. Najwa Yaacoub, ceo of RAS Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies, during which the two sides discussed ways of cooperation between the two sides in sharing statistical data and implementing opinion polls.

RAK TRANSPORT AUTHORITY LAUNCHES ELECTRIC TAXI

As part of its strategic plan 2020-2025 of achieving tripartite sustainability and improving environmental sustainability, RAKTA has launched the first batch of two electric taxis in the Emirate in partnership with Al Hamra and Al Arabia Taxi franchisees.

H.E. Eng. Esmaeel Al Blooshi, General Manager of RAK Transport Authority confirmed that the transformation of Taxi operation using electric and environmentally friendly vehicles is one of the main initiatives of the Authority to achieve environmental sustainability by 2024.

It is worth mentioning the proportion of environmentally friendly vehicles (hybrid Cars) currently accounts for 60% of the total taxi fleet in the Emirate. He added that the Electric Taxi will provide a new concept to the current transportation system, which will contribute to achieve Environmental sustainability in the Emirate

RAK TRANSPORT AUTHORITY SIGNS CONTRACT TO IMPLEMENT ERP PROJECT

THE FIRST PHASE OF RAK TRANSPORT ATHORITY’S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION PLAN WAS SIGNED ON SUNDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER 2019. IN THE PRESENCE OF HE ENG. ESMAEL HASSAN AL BLOUSHI THE GENERAL MANAGER OF RAK TRANSPORT ATHORITY BY COOPERTION WITH RAK ELICTRONIC GOVERNMENT, PRESENCE OF MISS ALIAA SULTAN ALKENDY DIRECTOR OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND TECHNICAL OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT. WITH INTERTICSYS COMPANY FOR MICROSOFT DYNAMICS 365- INTELLIGENT ERP SOLUTIONS PROJECT IN THE PRESENCE OF MR. NARESH KOTHARI, CEO OF INTERTECSYS. THIS SYSTEM WILL BE THE FIRST PHASE OF THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE OPERATIONS AND SERVICES PROVIDED AND IMPLEMENTED BY RAK TRANSPORT ATHORITY.

RAKTA signs an MOU with RAK Police and General Resources Authority.

As per the instructions of our wise leadership, in execution of the strategic plans of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah 2030, and in our belief in the necessity of collaborating efforts, experience sharing, and effective partnerships between the different government entities, RAKTA signed an MOU with the GHQ of RAK Police and the General Resources Authority. This MOU will establish a relationship of partnership and cooperation on the work field, and raise the level of communication and coordination between the three parties. The signing of the MOU was in the presence of HE Eng Esmaeel Hassan Albaloushi – GM of RAKTA, HE Brigadier General Abdullah khamees Alhadidi – Deputy General Director of RAK Police, and HE Maysoon Mohammed Aldhahab – Acting GM of the General Resources Authority

Meeting between RAKTA and RAK Police GHQ

RAKTA hosted a cooperative meeting with the RAK Police GHQ, headed by HE Eng. Esmaeel Hassan Al Baloushi, the GM of RAKTA, and attended by Brigaier General Ali Mohammed Al Qarsi, Director General of Strategy in RAK Police GHQ, where HE Eng Esmaeel Hassan Al Baloushi presented RAKTA’s development Strategy and its most important axis, emphasizing that cooperation with the strategic partners is paramount for achieving the vision of the Government of Ras Al khaimah.
Brigadier General Ali Mohammed Al Qarsi echoed the same based on instructions from the RAK Police GHQ placing high regards on an efficient communication plan with the strategic partners in search of cooperation and coordination opportunities through joint initiatives, especially since the RAK Police GHQ routinely holds conferences with its strategic partners which helps conserve effort and cost and reinforces cooperation opportunities.
HE Eng Esmaeel Hassan Al Baloushi thanked the Traffic Department for their tangible cooperation through joint inspection campaigns that had a positive impact in achieving its goals and combating illegal passenger transportation.

Meeting between RAKTA, RAK Tourism Development Authority, and Department of Civil Aviation

RAKTA hosted a meeting with the Department of Civil Aviation , RAK Tourism Development Authority, and itself, headed by Mr. Maktoum Nasser Muraddad, the Deputy Manager and Director of Supporting Services, to discuss cooperation and coordination regarding vehicles and buses that transport passengers to and from RAK Airport. This meeting falls under the framework of cooperation and institutional synergy between the different government entities in order to simplify procedures and raise the level of performance.

Meeting between RAKTA, RAK police GHQ, and the General Resources Authority

The General Resources Authority hosted a meeting between RAKTA, RAK Police GHQ, and itself, attended by HE Eng. Esmaeel Hassan Al Baloushi the GM of RAKTA, HE Jamal Ahmed Altair , Chairman of the general Resources Authority BoD, and HE Brigadier General Adel Al Ghais, Director of Vehicle and Driver Licensing in RAK Police. The Attendees agreed that this meeting will be the cornerstone upon which a strong relationship of cooperation will be built, serving the vision of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah, and keeping up with the development the RAK is undergoing in all aspects. The possibility of interconnectivity with the Traffic Department Systems was discussed, which would save time and effort for the customers. Cooperation in fighting illegal passenger transportation through joint operations, and installing monitoring cameras in passenger transportation buses and taxis were also discussed.
HE Eng Esmaeel Hassan Al Baloushi emphasized that RAKTA’s Strategy is built upon cooperation with all relevant entities and the sharing of all possible data and information, and HE expressed extreme interest in the training and habilitation of drivers in the Transportation sector. Many subjects were discussed including Vehicle Towing and Regulation of the School Transportation Sector.

Honoring the Winners in the Innovation Contest

HE Eng Esmaeel Hasan Al Baloushi , the GM of RAKTA, honored the winners in the Innovation Contest held for RAKTA’s employees, for their creative suggestions. QC Officer Ali Esmaeel, Mrs. Manal Hamad Al Nuaimi – HR Department Head, and QC Officer Ahmed Mahmoud, won 1st, 2nd, and 2rd place respectively. 29 suggestions were presented to the contest.

Inspection campaigns in coordination with RAK Police GHQ

The QC Department in RAKTA, in coordination with the GHQ of RAK Police, performed intensive inspection campaigns in certain areas of the Emirate, targeting illegal passenger transportation through private vehicles, as well as vehicles operated by private sector transportation companies. This was in its efforts to regulate and monitor the transportation sector and ensure a high level of service quality.
